The Express Gene™ WOUND panel is an expanded RT-PCR-based test that offers comprehensive detection of a broad range of pathogens responsible for wound infections. This advanced panel provides a deeper insight into the microbial landscape of wound infections, allowing for more precise and tailored treatment plans. It is designed to support healthcare providers in managing complex wound infections effectively and efficiently.
The WOUND panel includes all organisms detected by the WOUND LITE panel, such as Enterococcus spp., Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus mirabilis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus agalactiae (Group B), Streptococcus pyogenes (Group A), and resistance genes for Methicillin/Oxacillin (mecA) and Vancomycin (vanA & vanB). Additionally, it expands coverage to include Acinetobacter baumannii, Bacteroides fragilis, Citrobacter freundii, Clostridium perfringens, Enterobacter cloacae, and Klebsiella aerogenes.
By encompassing these additional pathogens, the Express Gene™ WOUND panel provides a more exhaustive analysis of wound infections. This extensive pathogen coverage ensures that even less common infectious agents are identified, which is critical for guiding effective and targeted therapeutic strategies. The expanded detection capability of this panel helps clinicians address the full spectrum of wound pathogens, optimizing patient care and improving clinical outcomes.
The Express Gene™ WOUND panel is an essential diagnostic tool for healthcare providers dedicated to delivering comprehensive and precise care for patients with wound infections, ensuring a thorough approach to infection management and recovery.
