The Express Gene™ UTI w/AMR is an extended RT-PCR panel that offers comprehensive detection of a wide range of pathogens responsible for urinary tract infections, along with antimicrobial resistance (AMR) profiling. This advanced test provides detailed and accurate identification of multiple pathogens, ensuring effective and targeted treatment strategies. It is ideal for use in clinical settings where comprehensive diagnostics are crucial for managing complex UTI cases.
Our UTI w/AMR panel includes all the pathogens detected by the UTI LITE panel, such as Enterococcus spp., Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus mirabilis, Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus saprophyticus, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, along with resistance markers for Methicillin/Oxacillin (mecA) and Vancomycin (vanA & vanB). Additionally, it extends the detection to include Candida species (Candida albicans, Candida parapsilosis, Candida tropicalis), Citrobacter species (Citrobacter braakii/freundii, Citrobacter koseri), Enterobacter cloacae, Klebsiella species (Klebsiella aerogenes, Klebsiella oxytoca/michiganensis), Proteus vulgaris, Streptococcus agalactiae (Group B), and Ureaplasma urealyticum.
This extensive coverage allows healthcare providers to accurately diagnose a broad spectrum of UTI pathogens and assess their antimicrobial resistance profiles. By identifying both bacterial and fungal pathogens, this test supports comprehensive and effective treatment plans. The ability to detect antibiotic-resistant strains is crucial for preventing the misuse of antibiotics and ensuring the use of appropriate therapies. With the Express Gene™ UTI w/AMR test, you receive a powerful diagnostic tool that enhances patient care by delivering precise and actionable information on infection and resistance, supporting better clinical outcomes.
